Pyropel® LD-6 Low Density
Pyropel® LD-6 is a strong, three-dimensionally reinforced lightweight, high-temperature insulating blanket capable of operating continuously at temperatures from -300°F to +450°F. It is an excellent acoustic absorption material. Pyropel LD-6 is a porous product capable of filtering air at high temperature with a low pressure drop. It is available in rolls or as die cut parts.
Pyropel LD-6 is 100% polyimide fiber. It has excellent resistance to acids, hydrocarbons, most solvents and cleaning fluids. It is drapable, can be readily cut, and bonds easily to most surfaces. The 6 lb/ft3 density of Pyropel LD-6 gives it enough strength to be supported with fasteners, clips or adhesives to metal and plastic surfaces.
Typical Uses / Industry
Pyropel LD-6 readily bonds/fastens to most surfaces to provide high temperature insulation. It can be cut into gaskets, sewn into heat protector blankets or used in conjunction with ceramic felt or wools to provide a light, yet stable, insulation system. Pyropel LD-6 is used in scientific and industrial test equipment to thermally isolate heated test cells and control ambient temperature, chemical equipment to control reaction temperatures and in multiple commercial aircraft and space flight applications.
Custom Finishing and Fabricating
Pyropel LD-6 is available in rolls 54" wide and 75’ long. Custom widths and lengths are available, and Pyropel LD-6 can be provided in custom densities. Thicknesses range from 1/8" to 1".
